Offworld 2008, photos Jam Gorilla
Second edition of this psychedelic feast lasting over 4 days and happening in UK was even more intense than the first one and it is saying something. Cutting edge psychedelic trance, progressive, gypsy rock and sublime chillout banging all around. Definitely one of the best festival visiting these shores. Have you been there yet?
Offworld Festival near Swindon, 17 - 21 July 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
One of the best psychedelic and progressive festivals I have ever been to, no doubt. It all happened thanks to Planet Bob's Chai Emporium and Ave a Laugh dudes and one millions thanks to them for such a memorable fest! Despite 3 days of rain I will always have only sunny memories of this bash! Looking forward to the next one in 2008.
Kamouflage `n` Psibox, 30th September 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
After party that took some time to start biting but it is normal for good things to mature. Excellent location and fabulous chillout space. Bubbles to all!
Omniscience @ Dukes - 29 September 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
Better known for their outdoor antics Omniscience crew entered Dukes, a City bastion of affluent and sleazy and completely conquered it with a psychedelic easy going vibe. Two rooms adorned with some intruiging artwork by Kinky Pixie and Aura Dove and filled up with pumping beats and chillout/progressive toones vibrated and shook a bit or more this rather small but comfortable club. Full on room left the most memorable experience with some heavy hitters in action. Keep bubbling regardless!
Trance Port - Shoreditch, 10 August 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
One of the many parties at this audacious location, be it psychedelic trance, techno, drum and bass or anything else between. Lots of hard kicking and dirty electro and some inspirational psy beats. Squat environment in its purest form whatever it means.
Secret Garden Party near Huntington- 26 July 2007, photos by Zee
Hardly secret with over 6000 attendees but it was one hell of a performance for all.
The Secret Temple Party @ London, 4 August 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
Awesome little gem that sometimes could be called a silent rave but it was well deserved cos generator kept awoling and neighbours complaining. Nice location, esthetic surroundings plus some inspiring Freakadelic deco summed it up for me. Nice one!
Hammered @ 414, 28 July 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
It was indeed Hammered time @ 414. No surprise at all as this is the place where you meet all walks of life or beyond. Very warm welcome after years of absence and lots of razor sharp and tough beats to go with. Left me hammered at the end. Ahoy!
Psychedelic Lite! @ London, 21 July 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
That was a strange kinda party - an exhibition that was supposed to be Lite! but ended up being a massive bash that some decided to cut short and so it was - 4am crash! What is left is to enjoy Flying Piglets decorations, Isabel's beatiful paintings and Bartek insane murals... whateva, keep bubbling
Digital Hive & One Tribe - Mangue Beat, 14 July 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
Massive!!! It was like going back a whole decade. Infectious vibe, bangin beat and lots of space to explore. Truly unique! Keep bolshing!
Baboon In Da City! - London, 7 July 2007, photos Jam Gorilla & Jacqueline
Really enjoyed that one and as a result not that many snaps here... Guilty as charged but it was pukka!
Venom Psychedelic, 23 June 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
Now this co-production of Venom Psychedelic, Psy Invasion and Gnome Productions attacked senses of both spirit and body in many subtle and less subtle ways. Certainly the idea of sharing the same space with hardcore tekno rig on the night leaves a lot to ponder. Apparently It was forced by circumstances beyond organisers control. Still it was like mixing fire and water or something... Hmm... So was the lack of even most basic utilities - it was indeed an underground event, every human for himself. But given the inspiring and intelligent deco that fitted into surroundings seamlessly and mighty line up with Laughing Buddha rocking the foundations it was a memorable time. Packed to rafters too. Musically a feast and visually a treat, no doubt... Better luck next time doods!
Mystic System @ Hampstead Heath, 16 June 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
One word - Awesome! Happy Birthday Louis! ps very glad and proud I was there, truly unforgettable experience! besides I respect brotherhood of trees...innit?
Nu Dawn @ Rhythm Factory, 27th May 2007, photos by Minnie Mouse
old skool and breakbeat galore in a cozy East London venue. Big it up!
Oversoul, 9 June 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
A kIller party with nature as a beautiful backdrop and toones to match. Superb! Digital Hive, Fairy Tales and Implosion keep bangin!
Mystic System Free Party, 2 June 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
Aloha! Mystic System Free party was indeed free like in "free". No hidden charges and no stealth impositions either. It is a rarity these days but Mystic secret lies in a simple fact of owning sound system and that probably allows them such a generous flexibility. As for the party it rocked and without any security whatsoever there was not even a whiff of discontent or shade of argument. Ahoy psyfolk! And mucho machy for the Brasilian contingent who rescued some from da harcore mayhem. Jarrox and Digoa earn accolade of da high sort. Keep bangin regardless!
Venom Psychedelic, 19 May 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
This night had a twisted edge to it but then again Venom Psychedelic is called like this for a very good reason. Location was superb - spacious place with many shopping opportunities in ways more then one - allowing free roaming and schmoozing to your heart's content. Enter procession of several rooms of chilling and bangin and some psychedelic air swirling around in a poison locked chalice. Quite irritating at first, lack of running water soon became just another underground challenge to the masses to be reckoned with. So is life, innit? Hallejuah! Keep venoming!
London Trance Port, 12 May 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
Very relaxed gig somewhere in East London. Probably the first -"ladies free before etc" psy event in the living history but that could help to solve some statistics trauma of several nights around. Cool bananas - had some fun!
Synergy Project @ SEOne, 11th May 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
For Synergy Project it was the last in series before festival season kicked off and it was a Gud one. Despite being besieged by various technical problems the night unraveled as a full-on art assault on your senses and other tentacles of different kind. Creating titillating experience of similar minded doodes in the whirlpool of expressions, images and semantics is a difficult juggling act but Synergy is getting us to get used to it with unnerving accuracy and execution. As I said Gud one Be bubbling!
Psychedelic Picnic, 6 - 7 May 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
It was a blast! For the psychedelic picnic crew first in the series, still unexperienced and naive but nothwistanding it was a very pleasant affair of iluminating proportions or whatever! (Feel the blanks when necessary) next one soon! mucho machy for being there to every1.
Wildthings @ Jacks, 4 May 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
Wildthings gatherings are always a special treat to any psy addict and extravaganza @ Jacks was the best example of it. It started on a sour note but hospitality and energetic vibe on the night won me over. Psytrance room decor provided by Nagual Creations was stupefying - but it is a trademark of theirs production - and fought a close contest with explosion of visuals by E.V.P, Inside us all and Arc-i. The only winner in this case however appears to be the audience bemoaning with joy. Psybeats harder than nails were domain of Wildthings heavyweights and you may look hard around for the same quality of the sound. Say no more. Keep bangin'
Hadracadabra @ Jacks, 28 April 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
It was an excellent effort by crews of Chrysalid and Hadra Festival working together in perfect harmony to create a son et lumiere spectacle . Yes indeed, harmony was a secret of this meticulous and opulent production. More banging DJs than you could shake your magic wand at and crowd full of anonymous wizards to match.... Abracadabra!
Digital Hive @ Electrowerkz, 27 April 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
Banging psychedelic night @ Electrowerks better known for hosting techno events et al. It took some time to kick start it but its only because Digital Hive are renown to stage events in different types of venues if you follow my meaning and the audience there were quite confused as to what is what. But after initial pause they found familiar grounds and carried on doing what they are best at, namely bangin' Up to Digital Hive, keep trancing!
Kamouflage and Ajuca Productions, 21 April 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
Again Kamouflage came, saw and conquered. This time with the assistance of Ajuca Productions and I could testify to the fact they indeed do produce. In my case it was a great laugh and more psychedelics that you could shake a stick at. Brillant night of driving psytrance and superb decorations by Shams! Keep bangin', no less!
Cosmonation @ Medussa, 20 April 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
I was impressed by freshness of psychedelic toones played at this small but have no doubt very promising promotion. Psytrance mixed with hardcore, drum 'n' base and hard house and all done within the tolerance and esthetics. Coool and absolutely rocking! Special mention goes to chillout doodes for spinning intriguing and invigorating magic - Bedouin, Simon B. and Moist between others. Watch out for them cos they are worthy!
One Tribe Presents Springtime Celebration On Cloud Nine, 13 April 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
There was a beauty of synergy on the night. One of the most pleasant vibes I have encountered for some time. So relaxing it was I decided to take it easy and got completely lazy with snapping da thingy. Time flashed by and the morning came quicker than expected and the world outside chaotically rushed to remind me I was still a human. Be bubbling forever....
Acid Monkey @ SEOne, 7 April 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
That was one hell of the visual feast @ SEOne. It doesn't happen very often such an intensity of visuals in one night, at times truly overpowering with surrealism. Big Hey! to all visualists on that night. On the other hand could disagree a tad with the current music policy of Acid Monkey, which is becoming distinctively different from Alhambra or Jacks days but it was different team in charge then. Nevertheless some top notch psy trance and some I don't know what - plenty of bass and beat anyway and given surroundings plenty of boom to boot. Whateva... not my problem anyway. Night to remember for many other reasons and enlightens... Keep bangin'
Roots vs Chichime @ Jacks, 31 March 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
First outing @ Jacks for Roots and Chichime psytrance old timers supported by progressive Solid Kiss and what a fine night it was! Kind of minimal deco but it was a change from usual baroqueness of the Jack's set up and it created new challenge and I always welcome that. Plus a full on drive all night long. Need I ask for more?
Crystal Fields And Divine Music Presents Paradox, 23 March @ Colosseum, photos Jam Gorilla
Really nice psychedelic bash by all accounts. I am warming up to the idea of Colosseum as a psy venue as I had my doubts before. Maybe knew it from the stormy age few years ago, whateva! Top of the marks for the beautiful chillout and some energizing toones in da main room. Full synergy guaranteed.
Digital Hive versus Reactor, 18 March 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
Absolute corker! Superb psychedelic toones and vibe all day long, from dawn to dusk or even longer but not really aware of it as gave in around 10pm before collapsing on freezing way back home. Before that made 2 resolutions though. One, that indeed Vlado truly represents Pukka Music and second, to follow Digital Hive wherever they wander in the future. Aloha!
Mystik System, 17 March 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
Mystik System bash will stay long in my memory, that's guaranteed. Some inspirational decor and concepts and decent line up of hard hitters, psyway that is. Lotsa of friendly dudes all orientations wide and long. One thing though, some of the DJs practice of mixing psychedelica with drum'n'bass beats/cuts and hardcore lining was something to ponder on. At first it is experimental to your ear but after 1hour it seems tedious and after that it becomes rather annoying verging on irritating; or I could use some other words... Still full marks for pushing the borders. Be bangin'
Venom Psychedelic, 11 March 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
Full of frolics underground bash. Some top notch psytrance and mesmerising tech house or whatever it was. Friendly crowd and some excellent vibe. Had fun.
Spacedout Infinity Sounds presents FEEDING ALL YOUR SENSES, 17 February 2007, photos Jam Gorilla
Intimate, almost family affair full of surprisingly fresh and innovative take on psychedelic trance et al. Watch out for them in da near future. Simply brillant!
